Third Trimester…The Final Stretch
At 27 weeks pregnant, I have officially reached the third trimester and am running (walking) the final leg of the marathon. Although it may be the shortest distance to go, since twins are full term at 38 weeks, I have a feeling it may not fly by as fast as the first two!
I would say I have had a fairly easy pregnancy this far, but I think the third trimester will definitely be the hardest. The aches and pains are starting to take over my body, the heart burn is occurring every day, my feet are starting to swell, and it is really painful to twist, turn, stand up, or roll over.
I can no longer see my feet when I look down, but I’m pretty sure they are still there. My favorite shoes have become my slip on shoes because laces are really moving out of the equation.
I am now measuring six weeks ahead, which means if I were only carrying one baby, I’d be measuring at 33 weeks.
With only 11 or 12 weeks left, I can see the finish line on the horizon and I can feel the girls kicks grow even stronger inside my belly.
Every day, I picture holding my girls in my arms and suddenly, all of the pain I am feeling lifts away and a big smiles lights up my face.
It’s only a matter of time before my whole world changes, and although that thought sparks excitement and nervousness, there is nothing more I could possibly want, than my family.
