Everyone who knows me, knows this… I love the Angels and Angel Stadium is my happy place!

(Check out my Mickey Scavenger Hunt posts from the 2010 MLB All Star Game)

Last night, we went to our last Angels game before the girls arrive!

Before this game, the Angels have definitely been struggling, scoring only one run over their last 30 innings, on their 1-6 road trip. It was time for the Angels to turn things around. I asked, and thankfully, they answered!

We were so lucky to have received awesome tickets from Smile Generation! Smile Generation is a referral service for best-in-class dentists, I’m the first person to tell you that finding a dentist is not easy, (since I am so picky) because I went through 4 dentists before finding the perfect one in So Cal!

Back on their home turf, and the first inter-league game of the season, for both teams, the Angels dominated! Ervin Santana pitched a four-hitter for his sixth career shutout! Mark Trumbo hit a 3-run homer and Alberto Callapso had 3 R.B.I’s.

Everyone had an extraordinary game and the Angels finally got out of their losing funk. It was an awesome “last live game” to attend for the season! (Don’t worry… when possible, I never miss a game from my couch!)

As if “Lighting up the Halo” isn’t the perfect ending to a perfect night, Fridays are also Big Bang Fridays at the Big A! Angels Stadium definitely has one of the best fireworks displays I’ve seen, and if you have not seen it, you need to buy tickets to a Friday night game!

With a big victory last night, we finally got our mojo back. The Angels will take on the Braves again tonight at 7:05 p.m.

Let’s Light Up the Halo!!

So last week I was watching an episode of Days of Our Lives, (Yes, I DVR it, Yes, I watch it every day) when I saw a ticker on the bottom of the screen that there would be an open casting call for the NBC game show, Minute to Win it!

NBC’s new game show “Minute to Win It,” hosted by All-American chef and television personality Guy Fieri (“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”), features competitors participating in a series of simple, yet nerve-wracking, games that can lead to a $1 million prize.

In each one-hour episode, competitors will face 10 challenges that escalate in level of difficulty using everyday household items. Each game has a one-minute time limit and failure to finish the task on time will eliminate the contestant.

At various points throughout the game, the competitor can walk away with the money earned up to that point — but it’ll take nerves of steel to complete all 10 tasks to win $1 million. The competitors, who come from all walks of life, are shown over 60 games prior to the competition and are encouraged to practice these one-of-a-kind challenges at home. The casting call was today at Cafe Tu Tu Tango in The Block at Orange at 10 a.m. Trent and I absolutely love this show there was no way we could miss the opportunity! Not to mention that Trent is absolutely amazing at silly “bar games.” Being the early birds that we are, we were the 12th and 13th people to arrive.

Today was simply an interview process and they wanted to get to know us.  I think it went really well and we are both very excited! There is a chance 1 of us may make it, or even better, we could make the couples edition of the show!

They said if we qualify, they will be making phone calls for a second interview this week and they will begin taping the show in the next two weeks. Keep your fingers crossed and you will DEFINITELY know if we made it!

Just to give you a sample of some of the games – here is the Blue Print for “Face the Cookie,” which is the first game we ever saw!
